Today, our community benefits from Family Medicine, Endocrinology, Pediatrics, Women’s Imaging, the Ann Schnormeier Center for Birthing Care, full service Lab, and Cardiology services in one location – the Wright Family Medical Pavilion. This modern facility also includes Cardiac Rehab.

Some years ago, a local heart attack patient might have been a “drip and ship” patient – meaning that KCH provided stabilization and then transferred the patient to a major system in Columbus for treatment. In cardiology, “time is (heart) muscle.” Time lost while traveling can be devastating, because minutes really matter. 

Now, when a cardiac patient presents during an emergency, KCH is prepared to preserve that precious muscle and save lives – locally. Within the WFMP, KCH houses an award-winning cardiology team and two top-flight heart catheterization labs that go to work to improve patient outcomes daily.  

Cancer patients endured a different kind of hardship in the past, as they made months of nauseous car trips to Columbus and back. Why?  Because at the time, that was the closest available option apart from declining chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy altogether. KCH offers state-of-the-art treatment facilities and interventional treatment in the comprehensive, accredited, Center for Cancer Care – just minutes from home.

The Foundation for KCH was intentional about gaining community support to make these improvements and new facilities possible, so that Knox Community Hospital could continue to provide high quality health care to patients throughout their entire lives – from pre-natal care to long-term, cardiovascular care and nearly everything in between.
